Barnes And Noble's Contemporary Nook Revolutionary Wireless Reading Device Gets Ready For Battle With Amazon's Digital Book Reader

The new Nook wireless ebook reader being sold by B&N, the worlds biggest high street book stall with above 1,300 branches, looks set to lock horns with the worlds best selling digital e book reader, the Amazon kindle.

While not long released, the Nook electronic book readers are looking to ruffle Amazon.com's feathers even more by taking it on openly in a sector of the market place, that up to yet, the Kindle 2 has dominated. Ever since it's inauguration, to start with as the Kindle then later on in February 2009 as the Amazon kindle 2 , it has re-ignited the digital e book reader marketplace by offering a mix up of ground-breaking specification, because of it's instant connect anywhere wireless broadband and also the largest collection of novels available for download at fantastic, cheaper than the high street, price.

No doubt after going through ebook reader reviews, purchasers brought in to the model in a large way and it is just lately that the rest of the business have woken up to the reality that this is the expectations of book buying. An so in the last few months we have had the message from Sony of their intent to enlist in the fun, with their soon to be unveiled Daily Edition, and the most recent press release from Barnes and Noble that their own contender, the Nook, will return to complete manufacture very soon.

There are no misgivings that the Amazon kindle 2 is the device everyone is going after. And to be truthful it's pleasant to see a little opposition in this sector. Yes we have had the iRex iLiad but the ebook readers reviews disliked it because it was a little on the big side to be a wireless book reader, wonderful for workplace use with the 1:1 A4 imitation, but much like the Kindle dx - another wireless portable reading device - not something you will want to take on vacation, or put in your handbag or pocket for that matter, and it was on no account going to vie on cost was it?

Thus now we have 2 significant companies ready to go head to head, with the might of Amazon kindle, on all fronts. The book reader arm of sony recently improved the magnitude of their library at the Sony-Store and discounted the price point of their digitally shipped books to match that of Amazons and with a bit of luck B&N, who have at all times been in the equivalent ballpark price wise, will match them title for title also.

But the major news flash for consumers has to be the move away from proprietary file formats used by Sony corp. in the initial days and nonetheless used by the Kindle2 now. To clarify the state of affairs I will use Kindle as an illustration, keep in mind this is even now the situation with the Kindle2 so it makes it crystal clear.
