Commercial blinds for care settings
Hospital and healthcare blinds for East Kent
Hospital blinds and other healthcare blinds have a different brief from blinds at home. They need to be easy to clean, safe around patients and visitors, hard-wearing in rooms that are used all day, and specified with the right fabric for the building. Privacy and light control matter just as much, from consulting rooms to waiting areas.
We supply and fit commercial blinds across East Kent, excluding Thanet. For a clinic, dental practice, GP surgery, care home or treatment room, we survey each window for free, talk through the specification with whoever manages the building and fit the finished blinds with our own team. This page is a spoke of our [blinds for schools and offices](/commercial-blinds-schools-and-offices) page.

Fabrics that are easy to keep clean
In a healthcare setting the fabric has to cope with regular cleaning. Roller fabrics come in wipe-clean and moisture-resistant finishes, and aluminium Venetian slats are a hard-wearing choice that can be wiped down. Vertical blinds are popular in busy buildings because a single damaged louvre can be replaced without redoing the whole blind.
Tell us how the room is cleaned and how often. A treatment room, a staff kitchen and a reception window each have different needs, and the right fabric for one may not be right for another.
Fire retardant blinds
Many commercial buildings need fire retardant blinds, with fabrics chosen for their fire performance as well as their look. Where durability and fire-retardant fabrics matter, we talk through the specification at the survey, and it helps to bring any requirements from your fire risk assessment or estates team so the fabric can be matched to them.
Fire performance is a property of the fabric, so it is decided at the specification stage rather than added later. We confirm the fabric choice in the written quote before anything is ordered.
Safety around patients and visitors
Every blind we fit is supplied in line with the UK child safety standard, with break-away chains, tensioners or cordless and motorised controls fitted by us. In waiting rooms, children's areas and care settings that is a starting point, and cordless or wand-operated designs reduce loose cords further.
Some clinical and mental health spaces need anti ligature blinds, which are specialist systems designed so that nothing can bear a load. If your building has that requirement, tell us at the start, describe the rooms involved and share the specification you need to meet, so we can advise on what suits each window.
Privacy and light in clinical rooms
Consulting and treatment rooms need dependable privacy while still letting staff work in good daylight. Venetian blinds tilt from open to closed without moving up or down, day and night blinds switch between sheer and solid bands, and blackout-backed rollers give the fullest privacy. Sunscreen fabrics cut glare on computer screens at reception and in offices.
We bring the samples to you, measure every window on the same visit and leave a written quote. Most blinds are made and fitted within two to three weeks of ordering, and fitting can be planned around clinic hours where possible.
