Blinds with nothing for a child to reach
The safest cord is the one that was never fitted. That is the principle we work to in nurseries, children's bedrooms, playrooms and any room where a cot, bed or sofa sits under a window.
Compliance is automatic on everything we supply. Going further than compliance is a choice, and in a child's room it is an easy one.
Cord free by design
Cordless spring rollers, motorised blinds and plantation shutters all remove the hazard rather than manage it. Wand operated Venetians and verticals replace a looped cord with a rigid stick that cannot form a loop.
- Cordless spring rollers: pull to position, nothing hangs.
- Motorised: remote, app or timer, no reachable control at all.
- Shutters: no cord exists anywhere in the product.
- Wand operation: standard on our Venetian and vertical ranges near children.
Fitted, not supplied loose
Where a corded blind is genuinely the right product elsewhere in the house, the tensioner or breakaway is screwed to the wall by our fitter at the correct height. Devices left in a bag protect nobody.
Room layout advice we give for free
Cot away from the window, nothing climbable beneath the sill, and no furniture that turns a safe height into a reachable one. We flag it during the visit even though it has nothing to do with what we are selling.
