Shutter-style louvres in a slim frame
Perfect Fit shutters for uPVC windows
Perfect Fit shutters bring the look of louvred shutters to a uPVC window without hinged panels swinging into the room. The louvres sit within a slim frame that attaches to a suitable glazing bead, so the shutter moves with the sash when the window opens. At a free home consultation we check whether your frames are compatible, then our own team fits the result.
They suit people who like a shutter's horizontal lines but have tilt-and-turn windows, tight reveals or furniture close to the glass. If you would rather have full-height panels on hinges, our [plantation shutters](/shutters) page covers that route, and the two can be compared side by side at the visit.

How a frame-fitted shutter works
Instead of a separate hinged panel mounted in the reveal, the louvres are carried in a frame that clips onto the bead around the glass. Nothing needs drilling into the window frame itself, and the blind sits close to the pane. A tilt control angles the louvres to adjust privacy and daylight, much like closing a traditional shutter's blades part way.
Because the frame belongs to the sash, the shutter travels with it. That is the practical difference from a hinged plantation shutter, which stays in place and has to be folded back before an inward-opening window can be used. On a tilt-and-turn window, a frame-fitted design avoids juggling the shutter every time you ventilate the room.
Checking your window before you order
Compatibility depends on the glazing bead: its depth, its profile and the space between the bead and the handle. Some beads give the frame a secure grip, while others are too shallow or too angled. We check each window you want covered rather than assuming that every uPVC frame in the house is the same, since replacement windows are not always installed at once.
Look too at what sits near the glass. A handle, trickle vent or restrictor may affect where the louvres can move. Where a window is not suitable for a frame-fitted design, we explain the alternatives, which may be a [Perfect Fit blind](/blinds/perfect-fit-blinds) with a fabric or pleat, a Venetian, or a hinged shutter fitted in the reveal.
Where they suit East Kent homes
Bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms with uPVC glazing are common candidates, because the shutter does not crowd a sill or worktop and can be wiped down. Rooms where the window opens over a bed or desk also benefit, as the louvres stay out of the way. Doors with suitable glazed panels can sometimes take one too, which we confirm when measuring.
Think about how the room looks from outside as well as inside. Louvres in a slim frame give a neat, uniform line across a row of windows. If you are matching other rooms, bring a note of existing finishes or ask to see samples beside the [plantation shutters styles](/shutters) so the colours sit together.
From consultation to fitting
The visit covers compatibility, louvre colour and frame finish, and we measure each window on the same day. You then receive a written quote for the agreed specification. Lead times depend on the chosen product and are confirmed with your order, and fitting is carried out by our own team rather than a subcontractor.
Our existing 5-year fitting warranty applies to installation. Homestyle has been established since 2006 and is family run, and you can see working shutters and blinds at our Hythe High Street showroom before deciding.
