Frame-fitted, no drilling
Intu blinds for uPVC windows, measured and fitted
Intu blinds are a frame-fitted system made for uPVC windows and doors. Instead of a headrail screwed into the wall or the recess, a slim frame grips the glazing bead around the glass, so the blind sits close to the pane and moves with the window when you open it. No holes are drilled into the window frame itself.
If you have seen the name and want to know whether it suits your home, the honest answer depends on your glazing beads. At a free home consultation we look at each window, show you the frame-fitted options alongside other blinds, and our own team fits whatever you choose.

How a frame-fitted blind works
The frame clips into the gap between the glazing bead and the uPVC sash. Because it is fixed to the sash rather than the wall, a tilt-and-turn window or an inward-opening door can be used without lifting the blind out of the way first. The fabric or slats are held within the frame, so there are no loose cords hanging down and nothing swinging when the window is tilted open.
Intu is one name for this kind of design. The same principle sits behind [Perfect Fit blinds](/blinds/perfect-fit-blinds), which we explain in more depth on their own page. When you are comparing, look at the frame profile, colour options and the blind styles offered within it rather than the brand name alone.
Blind styles inside the frame
Frame-fitted systems are usually offered with pleated fabrics, Venetian slats and roller-style fabric. A pleat suits most windows and comes in sheers, dim-out and blackout fabrics. Venetian slats tilt to adjust privacy and light through the day. A roller fabric gives a flat, simple look on a smaller pane.
Choose the style by the room rather than the system. A bedroom usually needs a blackout fabric, a kitchen or bathroom suits a wipe-clean or moisture-resistant finish, and a living room may want the tilt control of slats. We bring samples of each to the free home consultation.
Checking whether your windows are suitable
Not every uPVC window will take a frame-fitted blind. The glazing bead needs the right depth and profile for the frame to grip securely, and the handle needs enough clearance. Replacement windows fitted at different times can have different beads, so we check each window you want covered rather than assuming the whole house is the same.
Where a window is not suitable, we explain the alternatives: a recess-fitted pleated or [Venetian blind](/blinds/venetian-blinds), a roller on brackets, or a frame-fitted shutter where the louvre look appeals, which our [Perfect Fit shutters](/shutters/perfect-fit-shutters) page covers.
Measuring, ordering and fitting
We measure each pane at the visit and leave a written, no obligation quote. Standard blind orders usually take 2 to 3 weeks, and our own team fits them; nothing is subcontracted. Our 5-year fitting warranty covers the installation.
Frame-fitted blinds are popular in conservatories, on uPVC doors and in rental properties where drilling into frames is unwelcome. If you have several of these windows, ask us to quote them together so the colours and operation stay consistent across the house.
